CATRIONA GRAY – Celebrity and showbiz couple Catriona Gray and Sam Milby goal to raise 1 million pesos to help students deal with online lessons.
The COVID-19 has drastically modified the world as we know it. The health crisis has made physical distancing and isolation the ‘new normal.’
But even with the rise of coronavirus cases in the Philippines, the Department of Education Sec. Leonor Briones is still eyeing on the reopening of schools on August 24. Sadly, some parents have been unable to afford gadgets for their children’ online lessons.
DepEd announced that face-to-face classes will remain postponed until COVID-19 vaccine becomes available. In line with this, politicians and celebrities are launched initiatives to help kids who do not have access to the internet or computers/tablets.
Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista launched an initiative called “Big Heart PH” to help equip students in their distance learning. VP Leni Robredo on the other hand urged the public to donate their extra devices to poor students.
Miss Universe 2015 Catriona Gray collaborated together with her boyfriend Sam Milby to raise funds for the students struggling through the coronavirus pandemic. Their first song collab was released on Youtube on Saturday, July 18.
The superstar couple’s talent management agency, Cornerstone said the proceeds fromt the streams and downloads of “We’re In This Together” will go to the Young Focus PH’s “Quality Education For All” campaign.
In the caption of the video, Catriona Gray thanked Sam Milby for taking part within the challenge. She wrote, “Special thanks to my love Sam Milby, my Young Focus Philippines family and my Cornerstone Entertainment family.”
