Toni Gonzaga made an announcement for the first time concerning the ABS-CBN franchise issue, reminding the politicians that they’re not in power forever.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Gonzaga mentioned that she was hurt to read messages of employees bidding farewell to their colleague because they’re included in the layoff list of ABS-CBN.
She then reminded the people in power that the employees ABS-CBN would not forget the decision rejecting the franchise application of the Kapamilya network.
“Everyday ang sakit mag bukas ng viber dahil nagpapaalam na lahat ng mga katrabaho namin samin. Sa lahat ng nasa posisyon ngayon, hindi namin makakalimutan ang ginawa nyo sa mga trabahador ng ABSCBN,” said Gonzaga.
“You may have the power now but it will not be forever. I believe that no matter who the president is, JESUS is still KING and He is the name above ALL names,” she added.
Gonzaga then dedicated a prayer to the people affected by ABS-CBN shutdown, hoping that they’re going to survive the issue and rise up.
“We will continue to keep our faith in Christ that He will sustain us during these trying times. Just like the positions of the people in power today, what we are going through will not last forever. Troubles come to pass, they don’t stay. Jesus said, when you go through deep waters I will be with you. One day He wipe these tears away and replace it with JOY beyond compare. Babangon tayong lahat muli,” Gonzaga said.
70 lawmakers of the House of Representatives rejected the franchise application of ABS-CBN.
The Palace denied that President Rodrigo Duterte pushed to shut down the Kapamilya network despite his statements in opposition to the broadcasting company.
Currently, employees and supporters of ABS-CBN like Angel Locsin resorted to organizing rallies and noise barrage to express their disappointment to the government.
