Frontliner died not for COVID-19 but heat stroke

Life turned down a frontliner identified as Arvic Macarilay, 38, an audio technician and DJ who lives in Cainta, Rizal due to heat stroke due to severe weather.

Macarilay is a member of the Barangay Community Action Group in Cainta who is assisting authorities in arresting violators of the still-enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon.

It has voluntarily assisted in monitoring the checkpoints in the town.

According to his cousin’s account, Macarilay was poisoned while on duty Wednesday, May 6, during a sunny day. He was said to have been hospitalized and lost consciousness when he was taken to his home because he was rushed to the hospital.

Although he had a medical history, Macarilay experienced seizures. His chest was also hurt.

According to the doctor, Macarilay had a fractured head, which was later revoked.

Macarilay was honored for his heroism amidst the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
