The Department of Agriculture or DA will provide P5,000 financial assistance to 600,000 rice farmers in the country to assist them during this lockdown period.
According to Agriculture Secretary William Dar, farmers will be given direct assistance so that they can buy farm equipment, food and other necessities.
Farmers in 24 provinces not part of the Rice Farmers Financial Assistance Program will receive this P5,000 assistance.
The P5,000 grant will start distributing this week with the help of the Land Bank of the Philippines.
